BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 16. The volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan from January through March 2024 amounted to 1.444 billion manat ($849.4 million) in actual prices, which is 1.1 percent higher than the figure for 2023, Trend reports, referring to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
The committee's data shows that Azerbaijan's production in the field of animal husbandry in value terms increased by one percent to 1.37 billion manat ($804.7 million), and in the field of crop production by 2.9 percent to 76.1 million manat ($44.76 million).
As of the first of April this year, spring crops were planted on an area of 64.1 thousand hectares, including grain and leguminous crops (including wheat) on an area of 11,600 hectares, potatoes on an area of 11,700 hectares, and vegetables on 13,500 hectares.

Azerbaijan produced 139,200 tons of meat, 504,500 tons of milk, and 571.7 million chicken eggs from January through March 2024. Meat production increased by 0.6 percent, chicken eggs by 0.6 percent, and milk production increased by 5.2 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

Meanwhile, the volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan in 2023 in actual prices amounted to 12.21 billion manat ($7.1 billion), which is three percent higher than in 2022; production in the field of animal husbandry in value terms increased by 3.2 percent (up to 6.2 billion manat or $3.6 billion); and in the field of crop production, by 2.7 percent (up to 5.9 billion manat or $3.4 billion).
To note, the volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan in actual prices in 2022 amounted to 10.984 billion manat ($6.4 billion), which is 3.4 percent higher than in 2021; production in the field of animal husbandry in value terms increased by 3.4 percent (up to 5.4 billion manat or $3.2 billion); and in the field of crop production, by 3.3 percent (up to 5.5 billion manat or $3.3 billion).
