BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 4. Absheron gas field is set to produce 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas this year, an informed source told Trend.

Condensate production is projected to reach 523,000 tons.

According to the source, "From the beginning of production until May 1, 2024, the field has produced 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas and 484,000 tons of condensate."

In 2023, Absheron yielded 800 million cubic meters of natural gas and 300,000 tons of condensate. The gas was utilized domestically, while the condensate was exported via the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC).

From January through March 2024, the Joint Operating Company of Absheron Petroleum B.V. (JOCAP), responsible for hydrocarbon extraction from this field, extracted 400 million cubic meters of gas and 140,000 tons of condensate from the Absheron field.

The Absheron gas field is located offshore in the Caspian Sea. The field is 100 km southeast of Baku and 25 km northeast of Shah Deniz. About 270 square kilometers. Reserves are estimated to be between 350-400 billion cubic meters of gas.
