About one trillion rials ($23.8 million) has been allocated for laying of southern coastal transport corridor in the west of Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), the Governor of Hormozgan Province Fereidoon Hemmati said, Trend reports citing the governor office’s website.
According to Hemmati, the corridor, which stretches from the Parsian county to the Bandar Abbas county in the west of Hormuzgan Province, is divided into 21 parts.
The governor added that so far, work has been completed on the construction of nine parts.
The length of Iran's southern coastal corridor is 1,646 kilometers. It runs between the Iranian provinces of Khuzestan, Bushehr, Hormozgan and Sistan and Baluchestan. More than half percent of the transport corridor (874 km) is located in Hormozgan Province.
It is planned to complete the western part of the corridor in the Hormozgan Province by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020 - March 21, 2021).
