Bank Melli Iran paid 1.5 trillion rials (about $35.7 million) for the construction of the Ardabil-Mianeh railway in northwestern Iran last week, the Governor of Iran’s Ardabil Province Akbar Behnamjoo said, Trend reports citing the governor office’s website.
According to Behnamjoo, an average of 1 trillion rials (about $23.8 million) is paid every month in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020) for the construction of this railway line.
“In total, 12 trillion rials (about $286 million) will be paid for the construction of the railway line by end of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021),” the governor added.
As reported, the construction of the Ardabil-Mianeh railway line will be completed in the summer of next Iranian year (to start March 21, 2021).
The construction of Iran's Ardabil-Mianeh railway began in 2015. The 175-kilometer long Ardabil-Mianeh railway has 62 tunnels with a length of 23.8 km.
