Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend I.Khalilova / The Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) decided to connect Azerbaijan's Ministries of Economic Development and of Finance to the project of technical assistance on financial programming, said the Director of the Azerbaijan National Bank's Department of Statistics and Research, Emil Huseynov. The experts of the Secretariat will visit Azerbaijan next week for this purpose.
SECO has been providing assistance to the National Bank of Azerbaijan in this regard since 2002. "The Bank has further demands for the support because new issues have appeared in the Bank," Huseynov said.
Particularly, SECO assists in the macroeconomic forecasting of the inter-departmental group, which was established in at the beginning of 2007 from the specialists of the Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Finance, and National Bank.
The group has been established to define macroeconomic frames for the 2008 State budget. The consultants of SECO assist in the activity of the group. Pursuing coordinated policy in the budget process was recommended by the International Monetary Fund.
