Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / Azerbaijan's vehicles transported some 15mln tons of cargo in January to September, which is by 20% less than in the same period of 2006, Azerbaijani State Customs Committee reported. Export made up some 8.6mln tons and import exceeded 6.3mln tons.
Sea transport conveyed 587,600 tons of cargo, railway - 2.5mln tons, automobile - 526,100 tons, air transport - 2,900 tons, pipelines - over 4mln tons.
Within the 9 months 4.3mln tons of cargo was transited via Azerbaijan, which is by 15% less than in the same period of 2006. Azerbaijan transited over 1mln of cargo to Switzerland and Italy, 875,600 tons to Georgia, 327,200 tons to Tajikistan, 147,300 tons to Iran, 104,200 tons to Russia, 181,600 tons to Turkey, 107,200 tons to Turkmenistan and 61,200 tons to Kazakhstan.
