Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 March / Trend / In January-February, a total of AZN 353.3mln was spent on construction in Azerbaijan, which is 15% more than in the same period of 2007, the State Statistical Committee reported.
State enterprises allocated AZN 83.1mln for construction and AZN 270.2mln for private enterprises.
AZN 262.8mln (74.4%) was set aside for the construction of new buildings, restoration and extensions, AZN 54.1mln (15.3%) was allocated for overhaul repairs, AZN 17.3mln (4.9%) for minor repairs, and AZN 19.1mln (5.4%) for other work.
In January 2008, the nominal average monthly wage of the workers in construction sites comprised AZN 344.4. The wages of employees in large and middle-scale construction companies totalled AZN 409.3.
