Bazaar Owners Fined in Azerbaijan’s Ganja City

Azerbaijan, Ganja, 23 June / Trend corr V. Mammadov/ "Owners of the Ganjabazar OJSC, Mahrasabazar OJSC, Kapazbazar OJSC and Kanan LLC located in Ganja city were fined," Huriyyat Ismayilova, Deputy Director of the Centre for Hygiene and Epidemiology, said.

According to Ismayilova, sanitary norms were violated in the bazaars. For the first time, the owners were fined AZN 100 each.

Ismayilova said if violation of sanitary norms repeats, the outlets will be shut down, adding that attention to the field has increased.

This year, 14 outlets were shut down in Ganja due to violation of sanitary and hygienic norms, with two of them being public catering enterprises, 7 being food shops, 1 drugstore, 1 dental room, 2 treatment-and-prevention enterprises and 1 communal enterprise. Eleven outlets were fined and warned.

In 2007, a total of 17 enterprises were shut down in Ganja, 71 were fined.

There are 426 public catering, 261 communal, 1,120 children and teenager and 77 industrial enterprises in Ganja.

Ismayilova said, moreover, two officials of the Subsidiary Joint Stock Company of the Ganja Water Channel were fined due to violation of sanitary and hygienic norms. "A letter was sent to the head of Ganja administration to prevent anti-sanitary conditions at the water treatment unit," she said.
