Azerbaijani Tourism Ministry Considers Regulation of Tourist Service Prices Unnecessary

Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 October / corr Trend U.Ismaylova / "The Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism does not consider necessary to appeal to the Tariff Council to set tariffs for tourist services," Aydin Ismiyev, head of tourism sector of the Ministry of Culture, said at a joint roundtable titled 'Training of specialists on tourism and their employment', organized by of the Central recruitment administration under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Labor and Population's Social Security and  tourism sector of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The prices at the market are set on the basis of market mechanisms, although, the prices for tourist services do not differ much from the world tariffs, and despite the problems with quality of rendering services in this sphere, he said.

"Change of prices is possible, as hotel business develops in Azerbaijan. Prices can increase and reduce, but their regulation does not exist in Azerbaijan," Ismiyev said.

In accordance with the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, increase of incomes was observed by 10.8% - to AZN 79mln within six months of 2008 as compared to similar period of 2007.
