Japan's benchmark
Nikkei 225 Stock Average rose in early trading Wednesday as the Tokyo market followed the lead of Wall Street's overnight gains, dpa reported.
The Nikkei added 77.29 points, or 0.98 per cent, to 7,940.98.
The broader Topix index of all first-section issues was up 5.88 points, or 0.75
per cent, to 793.
On currency markets, the dollar was weaker Wednesday against the yen, while the
Japanese currency lost ground against the euro.
