The supply of gas from the Ukraine to Hungary did not drop on Friday, despite reports to the contrary, the Hungarian gas distributor FGSZ said Saturday, dpa reported.

The correct amount of gas was delivered Friday despite pressure in the pipeline having fallen slightly from the 47 bars stipulated in the supply contract, said Edina Lakatos, spokeswoman for FGSZ.

"Although the pressure of the imported natural gas is lower than stipulated in the contract, it is rising constantly. At 10 am the pressure was 45 bars," said Lakatos.

FGSZ, a subsidiary of the Hungarian energy company MOL, said the expected gas consumption in Hungary for Saturday is 63 to 64 million cubic metres.
