Azerbaijani Ekol muhendislik xidmetleri CJSC (Engineering services) and Uzbek Ekonordragmet signed the contract to establish joint enterprise on sorbent production in Baku, CJSC said. The agreement was signed during the Uzbek side's visit to Azerbaijan.
Sorbent production is necessary for Azerbaijan to clean oil-cut plots in the Apsheron Peninsula. Sorbent is also planned to export.
Co-founders of Ekol CJSC, established on Mar.1, 2006 to solve ecological problems in the Apsheron Peninsula, include SOCAR - 51 percent and Lancer S.A. Services - 49 percent.
The joint Uzbek-English enterprise Ekonordragmet was established and registered in the Uzbek Ministry of Justice on Feb. 15, 2006.
