Economic relations with Adjara assume great significance for further strengthening of Azerbaijani-Georgian bilateral relations: PM

Georgia is the strategic partner for Azerbaijan, said on March 2 the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade at the meeting with the Chairman of the Government of Georgia's Autonomous Republic of Adjara Levan Varshalomidze, who is on visit to Azerbaijan.  

"Economic relations with the Autonomous Republic of Adjara assume great significance from the point of view of further extension of the Azerbaijani-Georgian bilateral relations, said Rasizade. Azerbaijan not only invests in the economy of Georgia, but also together with it and other states, realizes energy, transport and other projects of the international of scale".

The Head of Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara said that during the visit, meetings were held at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Transport and Azerbaijan Airlines JSC.

"Today Adjara is the rapidly developing part of Georgia, especially in the tourist sector. Azerbaijan is one of the important investors in the economy of Autonomous Republic. And in this sense the current negotiations on opening of direct air flights from Baku to Batumi assume great importance," said Varshalomidze.
