Belorussia and Azerbaijan will discuss the possible creation of new assembling companies in Azerbaijan, Belorussian Vice Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said at today's International Belorussian-Azerbaijani Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation , the BELTA reported.

"We are planning to cooperate more closely and found a joint company to assemble Belorus tractors. Company's products will be sold to third countries. The sides will also cooperate on other projects, including assemble of truck cranes, elevators and social equipment. The Belorus tractors and MAZ automobiles are assembling in the Ganja automobile plant.

Vice Prime Minister of Belarus drew attention to the dynamic development of trade and economic relations between Belarus and Azerbaijan. Over the past five years, turnover has increased more than sevenfold, and in 2008 exceeded $100 million. In the first quarter of this year turnover increased by 32 percent - to $33.5 million.

"Despite the high growth of development, the turnover does not meet the potential of the two countries. We have to determine how to radically increase the turnover, finding new areas of cooperation ", said Vice-Premier.

Kobyakov added that bilateral cooperation should be developed, despite the global financial and economic crisis, especially since the economy complement each other and there are no competitive conflicts.

In turn, First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyubov reiterated the need to expand cooperation in various fields. "The pace is the pace and volume should increase,"- he emphasized.
