Turkmenistan enhances export potential in textile industry

Interaction with big financial organizations, such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, etc., promotes introduction of know-how in textile, as well as produce production competitive on the world market, national TV channel Altin Asir said on June 9.

Presently, Turkmenistan enters ten world cotton producers. Turkmenistan produced hundreds thousands of cotton annually during USSR. But even 3 percent was not processed independently. The country turned from stuff supplier on the world markets into big textile producer within 15 years. Over 90 percent of all production is exported abroad, including the USA, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Russia, Italy, Turkey, China and Ukraine. This production is distributed via world trade system Walmart.  

Turkmenistan has all opportunities for further development of its textile industry, acceleration of its export potential, representatives of the ministry of textile industry said. Turkmenistan actively cooperates with SGS Group - famous auditor of independent expertise, tests and certification to control quality of production.

"It will allow providing not only high consumer properties of Turkmen textile but deliver effective certified goods at exchange auctions in accordance with international quality standards. Prestigious certificate Belcoro of German Company Oerliron Schlafhorst was granted to cotton-spinning factory in Abadan situated near Ashgabat.
