The computerized ticket sales system of Azerbaijan will be connected to the Russian Express-3, terminals of which were set up in Russian Railway Office ticket offices, head of the Azerbaijani State Railway Office Nadir Azmammadov said.
The process of computerization of ticket sales in Azerbaijan and its connection to the Express-3 will be implemented before the end of the year, Azmammadov said.
Computerized ticketing system in a northerly direction (towards Russia) has been completed, similar work is now under way in a westerly direction (towards Georgia), which should be completed within a few months. Then will computerize the southern direction, then all will be connected to a single base in Baku, which will automate the purchase of tickets across the country (in one round trip). Accession of Azerbaijan to the Russian system is needed in terms of possible purchase tickets from anywhere in the country to the cities of Russia, as in one or both ways."
Tickets are sending from Baku to regions in a certain number.
Last year, the State Railway Office transported about 6.4 million people.
