Azerbaijan imported goods worth $828.17 million from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in January-June 2009, or 30.46 percent of the country's total imports, the State Customs Committee said.
Azerbaijan mainly imported grain (15.18 percent of total import), land vehicles (8.77 percent), equipment and spare parts (14.02 percent) and tobacco (6.021 percent).
Azerbaijan exported goods worth $713.78 million (12.28 percent of total export) to the CIS.
Azerbaijan mainly exported mineral fuels, oil products, bitumen minerals (60 percent of total export), vegetables (6.09 percent) and animal and vegetable oil (8.86 percent) to the CIS.
Red ink worth $114.43 million appeared as a result of import and export operations.
