In January-June Azerbaijani transport means transported 19.63 million tons of cargo which makes up 52.57 percent of indicators of the same period of 2008, Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said. Cargo exports totaled 16.11 millions tons and cargo imports 3.51 million tons.
Around 130,400 tons of cargo was transported via water, 1.5 million tons via rail, and 210,300 tons via roads, 405,800 tons via air and 13.84 million tons via pipelines.
Around 3.14 tons of cargo was transited via Azerbaijan, which makes up 93.51 percent of last year's volume or a decrease of 218,330 tons.
Around 1.13 million tons of cargo was transited via Azerbaijan to Switzerland, 386,600 tons to Bermuda, 602,700 tons to Italy, 310,100 tons to Georgia, 227,300 tons to Turkmenistan, 159,500 tons to Tajikistan and 77,400 tons to Russia, as well as 52,400 tons to Turkey.
