Azerbaijani, Iranian entrepreneurs agree on mutual cooperation

The Azerbaijani Entrepreneurs Confederation and the Iranian Trade and Industry Chamber have signed a memorandum on cooperation, the confederation said on Aug. 20.

The memorandum on cooperation was signed during the Iranian delegation's visit to Azerbaijan, led by the head of the Iranian Chamber, Muhammad Nehavendiani.

The main purpose of the meeting was to improve business relations between Iranian and Azerbaijani businessmen, the confederation reported.

During the meeting it was noted that the businessmen of both countries have sufficient capabilities to develop mutual cooperation, but some measures should be taken to increase the intensity and efficiency of this relationship.

In January-July, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Iran amounted to $70.48 million, of which imports accounted for $35.75 million and exports $34.72 million, the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee reported.
