Azerbaijan, Baku, August 29 / Trend /

The State Veterinary Service at the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan refutes the information on the importation of non-quality medicines into the country, which led to the fatal animal disease, as well as information on cases of mass deaths of animals.

The statement distributed by the State Veterinary Service on August 29 says that now the animal medicines used in Azerbaijan are imported from different countries, of which import is allowed only after state registration. Then all the medicines, brought by separate legal entities and individuals, are sold in veterinary pharmacies.

The report says that the main causes for losses, which amongst animals is 0.2 percent and amongst birds - 2-3 percent, were incorrect feeding of animals, farmers' non-compliance with the rules of breeding and break of veterinary and sanitary requirements.

After importation into the Republic, the medicines are tested by the institute of scientific control on medicines of the State Veterinary Service, and in case of relevant documents and compliance of medicines with all the necessary requirements, they are allowed for sale, the report said.
