Baku metro launched active prophylactic measures against swine flu, Baku metro chief engineer Elbrus Muradov said today.

"Metro employees conduct prophylactic measures at metro stations at night and depot in the afternoon," Muradov said.

He said that all carriages and depot are washed by special disinfection detergents (bromoseptom and chloramine).

An Azerbaijani citizen temporarily residing in Ukraine's Ivanovo-Frankivsk region was found to be infected with the swine flu after returning to the Azerbaijani region of Kurdamir by railway late October, the Azerbaijani Health Mnistry said today.

At present, the patient feels well.

Analysis of the infected woman's husband and daughter will be known tonight, Azerbaijani Anti-Plague Station Deputy Director Shair Gurbanov said today.

Two cases of swine flu were revealed in Azerbaijan in July. The infected individuals arrived from France and the UK. Both have fully recovered.
