During eight months of 2009, Iran has exported 72,000 tons of agricultural products via the customs post in the Iranian Astara to neighboring countries, Iranian Agriculture Ministry's Astara Department Hussain Abidi said, Iribnews reported.
According to Abidi, the country mainly exported watermelons, tomatoes, cucumbers, pomegranates, kiwis, apples, onions and potatoes worth $61 million. "Basically, the production was exported to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Russia," Abidi said.
According to him, changes in exports from Iran to these countries are not observed compared to 2008.
