The value of pistachio export from Iran increased 22 percent in the last Iranian calendar year ended March 20, 2010.
The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting quoted the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran deputy director as saying that $928 million worth of pistachios were exported from Iran last year.
Kyumars Fat'hollah-Kermanshahi stated that in the year to March 2009, the exports hit $721 million.
He added that 90 countries in the world import Iranian pistachio, further adding that 20 percent of the pistachio exported by Iran goes to Europe.
