Azerbaijan and Finland signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in customs matters and mutual assistance, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee reported.

The agreement was signed from the Azerbaijani by Customs Committee Head Aydin Aliyev and Finnish - Director General of the National Customs Agency Tapani Erling during the Azerbaijani delegation's two-day visit to Finland May 10-11.

During the meeting with the Azerbaijani delegation, Erling noted the importance of the experience of the Azerbaijani customs' officials to combat drug trafficking. He said the visit of Finnish experts to Azerbaijan will promote exchanges of experiences and mutual cooperation.

In turn, Aliyev voiced the Azerbaijani specialist's desire to pass trainings in the Finnish Customs Laboratory, as well as the intensification of relations.
