The volume of remittances between Uzbekistan and Russia totaled $ 430 million in the first quarter, the Central Bank of Russia reported.

About $383 million was transferred from Russia to Uzbekistan dollars and from Uzbekistan to Russia - $46 million.

The average amount of a money transfer from Russia to Uzbekistan hit $ 500 and from Uzbekistan to Russia - $1,192.

Uzbekistan leads among the CIS countries in terms of money transfers from Russia. Tajikistan and Ukraine the second and third place with volumes of $319 million.

Uzbekistan was also a leader in terms of money transfers among individuals from Russia in 2009.

The bank reported that about $2.052 billion was transferred from Russia to Uzbekistan in 2009 and the average amount of transfer from Russia amounted to $574. The country was followed by Tajikistan - $1,724 billion, $Ukraine - 1,339 billion and $Kyrgyzstan - $894 billion.

The volume of remittances from Uzbekistan to Russia amounted to $229 million. More funds were transferred to Russia only from Kazakhstan -$ 251 million, while transfers from the U.S. were much more modest - $162 million.

The bank reported that the data includes such systems as Anelik, BLIZKO, Coinstar Money Transfer, Contact, InterExpress, Migom, MoneyGram, PrivatMoney, UNIStream, Western Union, AsiaExpress, Allure, Blitz, Fast Mail, Zalotaya Karona , Lider and Pochta Rossii.
