The Avaza resort, which is under construction on the Caspian coast, will host the international exhibition "Avaza: on the new heights of creativity, construction and development" Sept.6-8.
The Turkmen Specialized State Committee for Avaza and Commerce Chamber, who are the organizers, hope that the forum will give impetus to further developing the domestic tourism industry and enhance cooperation with foreign partners.
It is expected that the event will hold road-shows, international tenders for the construction of facilities and structures designed for tourism, sport, leisure, recreation and other public purposes.
The multibillion-dollar Avaza tourist resort is being built along the Turkmen section of the Caspian Sea. Turkmen authorities have promised to simplify the visa regime for foreigners traveling to the area.
A number of spa facilities, a new international airport, a gas turbine power plant and desalination and water treatment plants have already been commissioned in Avaza.
Water parks, yacht clubs, an aquarium, an indoor ski resort, a cycling track and a casino city will also be constructed.
The Great Silk Road passed through Turkmenistan. The country has a rich folk culture, diverse landscapes, and unique archaeological sites. The UNESCO World Heritage List already includes Turkmenistan's ancient settlements Merv, Kunyaurgench and Nisa, residence of Parthian kings.
