Iran increases price for train tickets

The cost of tickets for private trains increased on October 3, Hussain Heybari, the head of Raja railway company in the province of Khuzestan, was quoted by ISNA agency.
The cost of a six-seated ticket on the route of Khorramshahr - Tehran increased from about $11 to $16. The price of a ticket on the train Ahvaz-Mashhad increased from about $18 to $25.
The prices for railway tickets increased by the need to ensure cost effective operation of the railway sector amid the transfer of a certain number of trains to the private sector and the intention to terminate the allocation of public subsidies.
