Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has opened the Nakhchivan-Sadarak highway, one of the strategic facilities in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, AzerTaj state news agency said.
The President was told the construction of the highway, which is the only road linking Azerbaijan with Turkey, started in 2008. The four-lane facility is 81,95 km in length and 23 meters in width. The construction was carried out by local Gamigaya company. The highway is part of the Great Silk Road.
The President tested the road with his car.
