Experts of the Azerbaijani State Maritime Administration are attending an international event under the Convention on Methods for Preventing Ship Corrosion in Odessa, Ukraine today.
The meeting is organized by the International Maritime Organization.
According to the administration, the event is attended by the representatives of maritime administrations in Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Albania and Russia.
The forum will discuss obligations arising from the convention. Participants will also study the experiences of leading countries in water transport, as well as scientific and technical achievements in this field.
The event aims to increase the efficiency of merchant shipping from an economic point of view, with causing a minimum impact on the environment and achieving regional cooperation in compliance with international water transport conventions.
