The Azerbaijani Transport Ministry plans a full reconstruction of the Ziya Bunyadov Avenue in Baku, Azerbaijani Transport Ministry's JSC "Azeryolservis" head Javid Gurbanov said.
"We will start a full reconstruction of the Ziya Bunyadov Avenue from the "Mashadi Azizbayov" metro station to the "20 Yanvar" metro station," Gurbanov said.
According to him, in particular, it is planned to construct six road junctions on the Avenue. Reconstruction works envisage the transfer of communications and may take 1-1.5 years.
Regarding construction of a major road junction near the "Ganjlik" metro station Gurbanov noted that works are underway and may take one more year, because it is planned to create here one of the largest squares.
At present, under the plan of the reconstruction of Baku's road economy works are underway on the construction of new crossings and tunnels. In particular, according to Gurbanov, it is planned to commission six underpasses and two small tunnels in Baku by late 2010.
