In January-October about 42,460 cars were imported to Azerbaijan. It is 20.7 percent less than for the same period of last year, the State Statistics Committee said.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the total value of cars imported in January-October amounted to about $370 million, or 3.1 percent less than in January-October 2009.
Roughly 3,584 trucks were imported to Azerbaijan, or 30.4 percent less than the January-October last year. The total value of imported cars totaled more than $84.3 million or 10.6 percent more than last year.
During the report period, the country imported 719 buses, or 12.5 percent less than in January-October last year. Buses worth $35.42 million were imported in January-October, or 8.1 percent less than the same period last year.
Roughly 617 trucks were produced in Azerbaijan in January-November. During this period, about 465 cars were produced, or 15.5 times more than the same period last year.
