Azerbaijan, Russia sign action plan against customs offenses

The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee and the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation signed an action plan to combat customs violations in 2011-2012, the Committee reported.

The sides signed the document at the fifth meeting of the Committee of heads of law enforcement units of the CIS Council of Heads of Customs Services in St. Petersburg on Dec. 16. An Azerbaijani delegation headed by Deputy State Customs Committee Chairman Asgar Abdullayev.

The document was undersigned by Abdullayev from Azerbaijan and Deputy Head of Federal Customs Service Nikita Nikitin from Russia.

The sides discussed 13 draft decisions. First deputy of the Anti-Smuggling Federal Customs Service of Russia Viktor Vakulenko was appointed the chief of the headquarters of the council and Deputy Head, Directorate M, Chief Directorate for Combating  Smuggling Operations, State Customs Committee of Russia - Executive Secretary.
