AIA committee’s work to continue the same way

Azerbaijani Insurers' Association (AIA) does not intend to make changes in the structure of the association, AIA head Azer Aliyev said.

"The Association's committees will continue its work in the future, the only change could be enhancing the committees' activities," Aliyev said.

He further said that the legal committee has seriously stepped up activities and has held several meetings in a short period of time. According to him, work has been underway to address the legal issues regarding insurance of mortgage lending along with collecting information in connection with difficulties in the application of legal acts.

Aliyev said in future the AIA intends to revitalize the Underwriting Committee and the Committee on Education insurers.

In total, the Association has five committees - Legal, Underwriting, Education, Voluntary Health Insurance (VHI) and International Relations.

Azerbaijan has 27 insurance and one reinsurance company. All companies are members of the AIA. Association membership fee is 5,000 manat. Azerbaijan Insurers' Association was established in December 2006.
