The Azerbaijani RoyalBank intensifies efforts to stimulate growth of cashless payments and Internet Banking users, RoyalCard Processing Center Project Manager Nadir Shukurov said on Thursday.
"To date, 80 percent of the bank's cardholders use the services of retail and internet banking," he said.
Shukurov said the bank is aimed to bring the volume of cashless payments to 99 percent.
"On average, one
transaction fells to the bank's one plastic card per day, but we believe that this is not enough and there is potential for growth," he said.
RoyalBank has already been certified to connect RoyalCard processing system to the international payment system VISA Int (VISA). The bank is also on the final stage of connection to the MasterCard Worldwide, JCB and CUP (Union Pay).
RoyalBank is a commercial bank operating in Azerbaijan. It has 32 branches in Baku and regions of the country. RoyalBank was established on August 1993 as a joint commercial bank "OZ Bank".
Today, Azerbaijan has five processing centers - Azericard, MilliKart, RoyalCard, TexKart and KapitalBank.
