The annual trade turnover between Iran and four Chinese provinces - Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui - has reached $6 billion in 2010, Islamic Republic News Agency reported quoting Iranian consul-general to Shanghai Mohammad-Reza Nazeri as saying.

"According to official statistics, 20 percent of the total trade turnover between Iran and China accounted for Shanghai and neighboring provinces in the eastern China," Nazeri said.

Earlier, Asadollah Asgaroladi, the president of Iran-China Joint Chamber of Commerce, predicted that the annual trade turnover between the two countries will reach $50 billion in the next 5 years, Mehr News Agency reported.

Asgaroladi added that goods turnover between Iran and China was only $3.5 billion ten years ago as compared to the current $30 billion.

Asgaroladi underscored joint ventures in various fields, including the tourism and transportation, as the ways to increase business between the two friendly nations.

Iranian Commerce Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari said earlier that Iran and China have always enjoyed stable and significant relations.
