Azerbaijan Railways incomes exceed 160 million manat in 2010

CJSC Azerbaijan Railways incomes from transportation amounted to about 169 million manat in 2010, the CJSC website reported.

Some 150 million manat of the total revenues of the company last year accounted for freight transportation, while passenger transportation accounted for more than 18.9 million manat.

Last year the company's expenditures totaled 156.9 million manat, respectively incomes of the Azerbaijani Railways amounted to 12 million manat in 2010.

Some 68.1 million manat of the total incomes was spent on salaries of employees, 12.5 million manat transferred to the Social Protection Fund, 26.6 million manat was transferred to the state budget in the form of taxes, 26.4 million manat - for use electricity, fuel and water, as well as 23.3 million manat was spent to purchase materials.

CJSC head Arif Asgarov said at the collegium that during last year major repairs were conducted on 1.1 kilometer of the road, while current repairs were conducted on 25.4 kilometers of the road.

Also during the year major repairs of 741 freight cars were conducted. Some 3,021 freight cars were under repair in depot. During this period, major repairs of 32 passenger cars were held, while 280 passenger cars were repaired in depot.

Slovakian company WEST GAS conducted major repairs of five locomotives. This company will repair passenger carriages this year. The carriages have already been sent for repairs and their commissioning is scheduled for this year.
