Azerbaijan Airlines will start test flights to the Turkish city of Izmir before the Novruz holiday (March 20), the Hurriyet newspaper quoted Azerbaijani Consul in Istanbul Parviz Mammadzade as saying.
"The test flights to Izmir will start before Novruz, after which regular flights will begin soon," Mammadzade said.Earlier, Azerbaijan Airlines reported that a new regular flight J2041/042 via the Baku-Izmir-Baku route will open from March 18.
The flight will be carried out on an Airbus-320 on Mondays and Fridays. The airplane will depart from Baku at 10:55 a.m. and arrive in Izmir at 11:55 a.m. (local time). The airplane will leave Izmir for Bakeu at 12:55 p.m., and arrive in the capital at 5:35 p.m.Baku time.
The ticket price is 166 euro, with return tickets costing 272 euro.
The official exchange rate is 1.0877 manat to 1 euro on Feb. 23.
