According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), the country recorded 4,284 payment cards in late February 2011. It exceeds the same index by 1.3 percent in early January 2011.
The number of operations during the report period on debit cards totaled 3,857 units. The volume of transactions on debit cards totaled 489 million manat.
About 3, 723 transactions worth 466 million manat were conducted through ATMs, 75,000 operations worth 16 million manat - through POS-terminals.
About 200,000 transactions totaling $54 million manat were conducted by credit cards in February. About 81,000 operations worth 21 million manat were conducted through ATMs, and 21,000 operations worth 12 million manat - through POS-terminals
