Uzbekistan, Tashkent, May 5 / Trend D.Azizov /

Uzbekistan intends to sell the Ltd Wimm-Bill-Dann Tashkent (VBD Toshkent) to foreign investor, Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan Shavkat Tulyaganov told reporters.

In September 2010 the Tashkent City Criminal Court decided on the transfer of assets of VBD Tashkent, a former subsidiary of Russia's Wimm-Bill-Dann, to the state revenue.
The company's employees were charged for violation of tax and customs legislation, trade regulations, production of substandard goods, theft and other crimes. The criminal case against members of the Russian company terminated "without addressing the issue of guilt" and amnesty was applied in respect to them.

"We are now looking for foreign investors. We will attract only the brand," Tulyaganov said.
He said bidding to attract the investor may be declared after the State Property Committee's evolution of assets and its investment potential.

"This procedure is underway. The company is very large and it is important to our economy," he added.
