Cost of construction work slightly increase in Azerbaijan

Prices for construction work in Azerbaijan increased by 0.1 percent in the first quarter compared to the fourth quarter of 2010, and increased by 0.9 percent compared to the same period of last year, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said.
Cost of ground work increased by 0.2 percent compared to the previous quarter, while by 1.3 percent compared to the same period of last year. Road construction in the first quarter fell by 0.5 percent compared to the fourth quarter of last year, while by 1.6 percent compared to the same period of last year, the state committee said.

Prices for housing construction during the first quarter rose by 0.2 percent, while by 1.6 percent during the year, construction of socio-oriented facilities increased in price by one percent during the quarter, while by 0.1 percent during the year.
Construction of six and many-storied residential buildings increased in price by 0.1 percent during the quarter, while by 1.6 percent during the year. Construction of five-storied buildings increased by 0.3 percent in the quarter, while the price increased by 1.5 percent during the year. Construction of secondary schools didn't not change during the quarter, while it increased in price by 0.9 percent during the year, office buildings - by 0.6 percent during the quarter, by 2.5 percent - during the year.

The official exchange rate is 0.7905 manat to $1 on May 17.
