In 2012, 50-60,000 tourists are expected to arrive in Azerbaijan for the 57th Eurovision Song Contest, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Abulfaz Garayev told reporters on Thursday.

"More than 100,000 people arrived in Germany for the last Eurovision Song Contest, but it is at the heart of Europe. The infrastructure there is, of course, wider," said Garayev.
According to him, the current situation shows that Azerbaijan will create all necessary conditions in order to adequately conduct this contest.

"This year six new five-star hotels will be commissioned. In addition, we are now creating special conditions for the construction of affordable three-star hotels and motels," said Garayev.

Also, the minister said, a lot of work would be done to improve the quality of tourism services in Azerbaijan.

"Trainings will be conducted for workers in the tourism sector. This is a great process, and preparations are conducted for this process," said Garayev.

In 2010, 21 legal entities and individuals obtained licenses for the provision of hotel services. Currently 295 hotels and hotel-type facilities operate in the country based on the license of the Ministry.
