Azerbaijan doubles tobacco exports

Azerbaijan exported tobacco and tobacco products amounting to $5.516 million in January-June, which is more by 2.03 times compared to the same period 2010. The figure makes up 0.04 percent of total exports, the State Customs Committee said.

Azerbaijan mainly exported (85.74 percent in the first six months) crude oil. The country exported crude oil worth $11. 225 billion in January-June, or 27.73 percent more compared to the same period of 2010.

During the report period, the country exported oil products at the amount of $749,016 million (increased by 20.89 percent). The figure amounted to 5.72 percent of total exports.

The country exported chemicals worth $42.572 million (increased by 62.07 percent; 0.33 percent of total exports), cotton purified from the seeds - worth $4.345 million (93.42 percent and 0.03 percent), ferrous metals and wares - worth $107.705 million (99.63 percent and 0.82 percent, respectively), aluminum and wares - worth $2.474 million (67.25 percent and 0.02 percent, respectively), fruits and vegetables - worth $84.85 million (57.85 percent and 0.65 percent, respectively) alcoholic and soft drinks - worth $6.858 million (decreased by 5.82 percent and 0.05 percent of total exports), and vegetable oils and animal fats - worth $103.576 million (increased by 3.22 percent; 0.79 percent of total export).

Azerbaijan's export operations amounted to $13.092 billion, or 27.78 percent more compared to the same period of 2010. Imports amounted to $4.344 billion, or 49.72 percent more compared to the same period of 2010.

The total volume of the country's trade made $17.463 billion, or 32.62 percent more compared to the same period of 2010.
