Nakchivan bans import of over 60,000 kg poor agricultural products from Iran and Turkey

In the first half-year the import of 139,900 kilograms of agricultural products, food and other products to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was banned, NAR State Customs Committee said.

In the first half-year the import of 139,900 kilograms of agricultural products, food and other products to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was banned, NAR State Customs Committee said.

"Some 11,230 kilograms of fruit and vegetables from Turkey was not imported into NAR due to high level of nitrates in them," the report says.

In addition, excess of nitrogen norms was found in 54,900 kilograms of agricultural products of Iranian production and 70,400 kg of watermelons from Azerbaijani regions.
Also according to the report, a large amount of food products, technical alcohol and medicines produced in Iran were returned back due to lack of information on production date and sell-by date.
