In January-July, about 31,910 cars were imported to Azerbaijan. It is 15.3 percent more than the same period of last year, the State Statistics Committee said.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the total value of imported cars amounted to about $320 million in Jan.-July, or 38.7 percent more than in January-July 2010.
Some 2,889 trucks were imported to Azerbaijan in Jan.-July, or 5.6 percent more than in January-July last year. The total value of imported cars totaled $55.5 million or 18.2 percent less than last year.
The country imported 301 buses in Jan.-July, or 42.6 percent less than in January-July last year. Buses worth $12.3 million were imported in January-July, or 53.6 percent less than the same period of last year.
About 483 trucks were produced in Azerbaijan in Jan.-Aug., or 1.3 percent more than in January-August last year. During this period, about 252 cars were produced, or 23.4 percent less than the same period of last year.
