Some 33 profitable banks operated in Azerbaijan in Ju ly 2011. The figure remained unchanged compared to June. The number increased by 3 bank s compared to the same period of 2010, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said.
In Ju ly, total profits in the banking sector hit 106 .72 million manat, or 33.7 percent more compared to the relevant figure in June.
The number of unprofitable banks remained unchanged compared to June and decreased by 6 in annual calculation. As a result, the loss of 11 banks amounted to 1 1.5 1 million manat, or 10.1 percent more compared to June.
