Kazakhstan will direct 2.200 bln tenge into the implementation of measures to strengthen defence, homeland security, law and order, as well as to deal with emergency situations in 2012-2014, BBC Monitoring reported.
The current exchange rate is 147.89 tenge for one dollar.
"In 2012-14, spending on defence and on dealing with emergencies will amount to 1.016 bln tenge, including 346 bln tenge in 2012," Finance Minister Bolat Zhamishev said at a meeting of the parliament's lower house in Astana today, presenting the draft state budget for 2012-14.
Meanwhile, spending by [Kazakh] law-enforcement agencies to maintain public security in the period will be 1.159 bln tenge, including 406 bln tenge in 2012, he added.
