Hotel services in Dubai up by 30 percent

Hotel prices increased by 30 percent in Dubai (UAE) in connection with tourist inflow from Gulf countries on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, "Al Arabiya" television channel reported on Monday.

The greatest price increase was observed at the hotels located on the coast of the Persian Gulf. Along with increased prices, almost full occupancy is observed at many hotels. According to hotel administrators, more than 90 percent of the rooms are already occupied.

At the same time, administrators predict a gradual decline in prices for rooms two weeks after the holiday. In connection with a holiday hotel employees entered intensified work regime.

Average hotel room price in Dubai, as of late September 2011, amounted to $252.

At present, there are 540 accommodation facilities in Dubai, 352 of which are hotels and 188 apartments with total capacity of 61,182 rooms and furnished apartments.

Tourism has become a major source of income for Dubai.

Now Dubai has 52 five-star hotels with a total of 16,693 rooms, 59 four-star hotels with a total of 10,817 rooms. Some 55 three-star hotel rooms have 6,975 rooms, 44 two-star hotels - 3,807, and 126 one-star hotels have 4,719 rooms.

Dubai ranks second on the average level of hotel occupancy - 79 percent, yielding only to Sydney (85.2 percent). Hong Kong, London, Tokyo, New York and Cairo rank third and seventh respectively.
