Tajikistan’s industrial output grows by 5.5 percent

Tajikistan’s industrial output exceeded $1.3 billion in January-November, 2011 increasing by 5.5 percent compared to the similar period of 2010

Tajikistan's industrial output exceeded $1.3 billion in January-November, 2011 increasing by 5.5 percent compared to the similar period of 2010, Avesta.tj reported on Friday with reference to the country's Statistics Committee.

The increase of industrial output in Tajikistan is due to the growth occurred in the country's food, textile, clothing, and chemical industries as well as in the manufacturing of electrical products and the production of minerals.

During the first eleven months of 2011 the production of Tajik extractive industry amounted $181.8 million, manufacturing industry - $946 million. The production and distribution of electricity, gas and water in Tajikistan exceeded $273 million.

Tajikistan's cotton-processing companies' production amounted $201 million in January-November demonstrating a 13 percent rise over similar period of 2010.
