Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 11 / Trend A. Akhundov /
The Azerbaijani-Pakistani leasing company MCB Lizinq will mainly participate in state projects in 2012, chairman of the board Ramal Jafarov told Trend today.
"We will focus more on infrastructure projects implemented by the state," he said. "These are to improve a water and sewerage system, gasification, construction of roads and so on. Mainly local companies work in these projects as subcontractors. We are involved in improving their logistics base, providing them with construction machinery and other equipment."
He added that this is the least risky direction. It coincides with the priorities of social and economic policy of the country.
"Moreover, we will also work in agricultural projects with the companies processing, packaging and exporting agricultural products," he said. "We will participate in the construction of warehouses, cold rooms, laboratories and so on."
MCB Lizinq will be given preference for the work with the companies dealing with export and import, providing their offices with other products related to real estate.
"Moreover, the leasing of public transportation and financing the purchase of buses will be an important area," he said. "We lease modern passenger buses, corresponding to European standards and operating on domestic trips."
He said that at present, about 60-70 per cent of the portfolio falls to the leasing of the equipment for state projects and passenger buses. In 2012, this proportion will maintain.
MCB Lizinq has been operating since July 13, 2010 and registered October 15, 2009. The founders are Pakistan's MCB Bank, which owns 95 per cent. About five per cent falls to the Azerbaijani capital and invested by Namig Safarov.
Pakistan's MCB Bank has assets amounting to $6 billion, 1,500 branches. It is represented in about eight world countries. It is included in Nishat Group. Its main activity is concentrated in the textile industry and manufacturing industries for the world's leading brands.
