Uzbekistan insurers premium revenue increases by nearly 37 per cent in 2011

Uzbekistan insurance companies increased the collection of premiums up to 231.6 billion soms in 2011, an increase of 36.6 per cent compared to 2010 a government source told Trend on Thursday.

The top 10 companies which have collected the largest number of premiums include the state-Stock Insurance Company Uzagrosugurta, which brought 37.4 billion soms of premiums (market share of 16.2 per cent), National Export-Import Insurance Company (NEIIC) Uzbekinvest - 31.9 billion soms (13.8 per cent), Asia insurance 19,5 billion soms (8.4 per cent), Kafolat 16.77 billion soms (7,2 per cent), Uvt inshurans 14,1 billion soms (6.1 per cent), Transinsurance plus12,8 billion soms (5.5 per cent), Alfa Invest 11,8 billion soms (5.1 per cent), Capital Sugurta 11.8 billion soms (5.1 per cent),Alskom 9.8 billion soms (4.2 per cent) and Temir-yul Sugurta 8.2 billion soms (3.5 per cent).

There are 37 insurance companies two of which are in the field of life insurance, one reinsurance company and 34 insurers covering general insurance.

There are three insurance brokers, two actuarial organisations, four companies providing insurance assistance and four adjuster and survey organisations in Uzbekistan.

The insurers increased the collection of premiums overall up to 175 billion soms, an increase of 20 per cent compared to 2009
